Kriya Yoga Workshop with Laura Morello
March 13 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm$35
Both Studios – Wall Open
Explore a style of yoga rooted in philosophy.
Kriya Yoga is described as the Yoga of Action, meaning it integrates three key niyamas: Tapah (austerity/commitment), Svadhyaya (self-study/introspection), and Isvara Pranidhana (Surrender).
All 3 niyamas are related to self-restraint and Kriya Yoga weaves them together to make them accessible in our daily life.
In this workshop, we will:
+ Explore texts describing the niyamas, as well specific techniques that help support these niyamas, including asana, mantra, pranayama and more.
+ Bring these niyamas alive in our lives through active inquiry, journaling prompts and open sharing to further explore how to make Kriya Yoga be what it is meant to be – a Yoga of Action in your life.
+ Understand Tapah, and select a few asanas and pranayama techniques that help you relieve stress.
+ Identify ways to embrace more Tapah in your life through asanas or pranayama
+ Learn boundary setting to protect your personal energy.
+ Develop Svadhyaya/Self-Study.
+ Explore the certain texts of the Sutras and Bhagavad Gita.
Please wear comfortable/yoga clothes, bring texts that inspire you (Bible, Talmoud, Tao Te Ching, New Testament, etc.), pen and paper to journal.
INVESTMENT: $35 until March 8; $40 thereafter
